Pretty privilege is pretty real.

I'm definitely not one to deny that pretty privilege isn't real. Now, the following experiences isn't me trying to suggest that I'm pretty enough to get pretty privilege, as I believe that ANYONE could get pretty privilege seeing as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm listing some examples to reinforce my own and others' belief that society really IS that shallow, and that you do get away/receive different things depending on how you look.

Times I believe the pretty privilege is real:

1)

The most recent event was when I was lining up for a bag of small chips at my office's cafeteria. The girl server has already filled up the bag of chips and it was just lying there, waiting for the EFTPOS machine to be unoccupied so she could charge me for it. His male coworker asked if he could help me and when I said: "Oh, she's got it. Just waiting on the chips."

There were at least 3 bags of packed chips so he turned to the girl and asked: "Which one's hers?" and upon identification, he scooped a lot of chips into my bag to the point of overfilling, and it was really obviously different from the rest of the "regular chips" before giving me a smile.

2)

When I was on a really crowded bus so I had to stand (tons of people were also having to stand). At one point, someone got off the bus so there was an empty seat but it wasn't very close to me so I ignored it and continued standing as I knew the guy standing right next to it was gonna swoop in at that seat. He tapped me on the shoulder and offered me the empty seat but I refused (I don't know why I did that to be honest, I was probably in my independent girl era). I wasn't the only one close to him so he could've offered it to someone else but once I said no, he didn't ask anyone else and continued standing too. (I don't know why he didn't just sit down but that poor seat oml).

3)

To be fair, this was a manifesting experiment to see how far I can push the limits, but I manifested that I'll receive a free drink from a stranger. One day during my shift, the mall security guard who I've never really interacted with but know of his presence asked if I wanted any drink from the Lindt store nearby and that it's his treat.

Now, subjectively these examples might not be good examples of pretty privilege because they could've just been gentleman and it didn't have anything to do with myself, but

This 4th and last example is why I myself is guilty of picking favourites based on looks, and can 100% confirm pretty privilege is real:

4)

I was still working at a bubble tea shop back then, and this pompous, hot guy who clearly knows his advantage in the looks department was clearly switching on his charisma from the very start: asking for recommendations, teasing me for the smallest of my mistakes when taking his order, saying things like: "Well, Cheryl... It seems we'll need to report you to management huh?" and "Thank you so much, Cherylll. I'll have to let you know if it tastes good."

If I could I was clearly flattered by him and he knows it. When he came back about 5 minutes after, he told me that the drink tastes really good, and cheekily asked if he could have extra pearls with it. After the initial struggle with my conscience for a few seconds, I scooped him a generous portion of extra pearls free of charge, with the only justification being "just because he's attractive". If it was any other customer, I would not have hesitated to charge them an extra $0.50 (or was it $0.60?) for that serving. His "thank you, Cheryl!" as he left with a little swagger in his stride was all I needed as repayment.
